We'd really like our guests to enjoy a drink during our ceremony
If you like to party, you may be wondering if you are able to have shots or other drinks during your wedding ceremony. Or maybe you’re looking for a more relaxed vibe for your wedding and would like your guests to enjoy a drink while they watch your ceremony.
But the big question is, are you allowed?!
But no if you have a Registrar.
Are there any limitations?
If you are wanting to have drinks, alcoholic or otherwise during your wedding ceremony, then you’re going to want to book a celebrant to officiate your special day. Giving your guests a shot or other drink to enjoy during the ceremony will definitely give that more relaxed feel that you’re looking for.
If you choose to have a Registrar for your ceremony then you will not have this flexibility. There will be a strict no drinks policy.
So just how to do you incorporate shots into your ceremony?
I have officiated a ceremony for a couple who wanted to have their partner’s favourite shot during their wedding. To their guests surprise, they were also asked to join in! The bride had the groom’s favourite shot and the groom had the bride’s favourite shot. It was a fantastic way to end the ceremony and really get the party started.
What about other drinks?
I have also officiated lovely relaxed ceremonies where guests have had the choice of drinks to enjoy during the ceremony and we have toasted to absent family and friends. The ceremonies where guests can enjoy a drink definitely feel more relaxed and they are less likely to be clock watching if it’s a particularly warm day.
What next?
